Hello World...
we hope you all had a good start into the year 2018, and that in the end of February at least a few of your good intentions for this year are still existing, if there ever have been any ... (-: One of ours on our bucket list was at least this post!
There is nothing to deny, it has become a little bit silent here, after we returned home halfway around the world to Germany and been then fully focused on the homecoming part. It's a kind of strange that in a country that you actually call your home country, it takes a while to get used to it. Despite incredibly great support from family and friends and having a german passport, we also identify ourselves from our feelings now a bit of pakistani, laotian, malaysian or australian, etc. as well. That´s why for us in the beginning, it did not necessarily make it easier to keep track of the past through social media all the time. Too many great, but emotional memories are connected with it.
What counted was the here and now. Let it be said to you: The retrospective view on a motorcycle world trip with a lot of experiences and encounters (with all kinds of people) brings you namely, when filling an application for a german health insurance - who would have thought that...- not that much foreward.
Well, there we were back and pretty soon the winter came. Brrrr... We were not used to snow and the cold any more, but how good that we did not had to work on our bikes outside. We rather started building our apartment indoor and start working in a social community, while still trying to get used to the cold, grey weather. "Was it always like this here?", we asked ourself truly surprised several times, after such a long abstinence from Germany. Meanwhile Tim and Lilly found there long way back to Germany and now they are both resting in the barn and dreaming of their 31 countries lasting adventure.
As you can see, after such a long time of absolute freedom, it is not really easy for anyone to submit to the norms of a normal life. Or to put it in another way: Do you still want to accept it and by the way what is normal? Many questions that need to be clarified after having experienced the world from so many different angles and perspectives.
Despite the familiarization break, we have hopefully nobody and nothing forgotten of this long epic journey.
As you can see 2018 will become very exciting again for all of us.
We are prepared for the next chapter now… Let´s get it on!
